Nintendo stealth-launched a surprise Pikmin Day Direct, though it made no new game announcements. The broadcast began by declaring November 1 Pikmin Day.
Following a reiteration of the central features arriving with the upcoming Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, the company emphasized that all four mainline games will be playable natively on Switch 2.
The mobile game Pikmin Bloom has been confirmed to add Secret Caves this Winter, where players will collect treasures by defeating the creatures that live there. Cave maps are needed, and they may be tied to postcards.
You can send out a bunch of Pikmin at once to explore the caves on their own. If they encounter a creature, you can command the Pikmin to attack. You can also use the whistle to call them back. However, if they take too much damage, they’ll withdraw to recover.
Any treasure you find will be added as a new collection. Plus, you can get special cave maps by taking quizzes in Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy.
Lastly, the broadcast concluded with a Pikmin original short movie, beginning the Hello! Pikmin series that will arrive via the Nintendo Today! app and other channels. Another episode will be released tomorrow; one will arrive in December. Then, from December onward, episodes will be monthly. The team is collaborating with Nintendo Pictures for these short movies.
Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy will be released on November 12, 2026.
