Crunchyroll has added two more point-and-click adventure games to its Android lineup. They’re the hit duo from Mango Protocol’s wonderfully messed-up Psychotic Adventures universe. MechaNika and Agatha Knife are now available on Android through Crunchyroll.
MechaNika and Agatha Knife both take place in the same universe. They feature seven-year-old girls with some seriously questionable ideas, and share a similar dark sense of humour that makes Mango Protocol’s games stand out.
In MechaNika, you play as Nika, a brilliant seven-year-old who’s had enough of everything around her. Her parents barely pay attention to her, her teacher doesn’t understand her, and her brother is busy playing video games.
School isn’t teaching her anything about the stuff she actually finds interesting. Things like energy transfer, magnetic fields, and electrical engineering. So, Nika decides the best solution is to build a giant combat mech and destroy everything she considers boring, pointless, or uncool.
Her little project is called Project MechaNika. She gathers all the components herself before she can get the machine up and running. The game is a point-and-click adventure where you’ll explore different locations, talk to eccentric characters, combine items, and solve logic and inventory puzzles. Check the game out on the Google Play Store via Crunchyroll.
Next, in Agatha Knife, the protagonist works in her mother’s butcher shop and genuinely loves animals. Unfortunately, she also really loves eating meat, which leaves her stuck with a rather awkward moral dilemma.
Her solution? Create an entirely new religion called Carnivorism and convince the local animals that being sacrificed will eventually lead them to eternal happiness. Like MechaNika, Agatha Knife is a dark comedy point-and-click adventure with satire, bizarre situations, cynical humour, and pop-culture references.
You’ll be exploring the hand-drawn Psychotic Universe, recruiting followers, coming up with sacred rules, and creating rituals. All of this involves talking to characters, collecting items, and solving environmental and inventory puzzles. Get Agatha Knife on the Google Play Store via Crunchyroll.
Actually, this isn’t the mobile debut for MechaNika and Agatha Knife
MechaNika and Agatha Knife were previously released on Android by their original publisher in 2015 and 2019, respectively. While those standalone premium versions are still available, you can play the Crunchyroll versions for free now if you have a Crunchyroll Mega or Ultimate Fan membership.
