BlizzCon 2026: Diablo IV will not receive any further expansions as efforts

Poor Diablo IV. It was sadly hilarious to see the game propped up at last Saturday’s keynote address with the announcement of the Amazon class… only to have the reveal of Diablo V immediately step all over it. So now Blizzard is engaging in a strange juggling act where it’s trying to prop up its current flagship Diablo property while hyping and preparing the way for its successor.

Let the juggling begin! In an interview with PC Gamer, Blizzard confirmed that Diablo IV won’t receive any further expansions past the two it’s received already. However, there is room for further story and seasons, and the devs confirmed that they’ll keep making new stuff if the player interest is there: “We’re continuing to support the game for a very long time.”

The studio also put out an informative recap of all pertinent Diablo IV reveals from BlizzCon. This includes the 30th anniversary Season of Hell’s Legacy event, the arrival of the Amazon in 2027, and hints as to future seasons with “playlist customization and seasonal variety.”
